Your photos never leave your PC
FacePic is built so that your private memories stay private.
- Photos, face data, names and the index stay on your computer.
- No accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, no cloud upload.
- The app opens in your browser but is served only from 127.0.0.1, so no other device can reach it.
- Delete the data folder or uninstall with "remove data" and everything is gone.
The only network use
A small licence check about once a day with the seller's licence server (your licence number, Computer ID and app version; never photos). An optional one-time download of AI models if you turn on text search or deep search. And opening the pricing page in your browser when you click Buy. That is all.
Face recognition makes face data about people in your photos. It stays on your computer, and you are responsible for having the right to process those photos. Read the privacy policy.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Photos, face data, names and the index stay on your computer. There are no accounts, analytics or telemetry.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Indexing and searching work without internet. The app needs the internet only for a small licence check about once a day (activation codes work offline, and the app keeps working for up to 30 days without a check), and for the optional one-time model download if you turn on text search or deep search.
Do I need a graphics card?
No. It runs on CPU only, just slower. Any GPU that supports DirectML (NVIDIA, AMD, Intel) makes indexing faster.
How do I move to a new PC?
Each activation code works only on the PC it was made for. On the new PC, copy its Computer ID from the app (Folders, Licence) and request activation; we approve it and revoke the old one. Reinstalling Windows also gives a new Computer ID.
How does activation work?
Pay for a plan, then open Folders, Licence in the app, enter your name, email and an optional payment reference, and click Request activation. We approve it, usually within [X hours], and the app activates itself within about a minute. Prefer email or WhatsApp? Send us your Computer ID and paste the activation code we send back. Renewals are extended on our side and picked up automatically.
What happens when my subscription ends?
The app becomes read-only. You can still browse, search and export what is already indexed, but it will not index new photos until you renew. Your data stays on your computer.
What happens at the photo limit?
The free trial stops at 2,000 photos and videos and the 100K plan at 100,000. After that no new photos are indexed until you upgrade, and everything already indexed keeps working. Subscriptions have no photo limit.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within [7 / 14] days of purchase. Write to SUPPORT_EMAIL and we will refund you and revoke the licence.
Is it legal to run face recognition on my photos?
For your own family photos it usually is, but the rules differ by country. If you process photos of other people, for example as an event photographer, you may need their consent or another lawful basis under laws such as India's DPDP Act 2023, GDPR or Illinois BIPA.
